Lynn Valley Community Association

The Lynn Valley Community Association has been working for the benefit of the community since the LVCA was first established in 1911.  We are a non-political group of over 100 volunteers whose objectives are to:

  • Foster and develop community pride

  • Encourage involvement in community development

  • Influence decisions in our neighbourhood and community

Our major accomplishments include:

  1. A significant contribution to planning the town centre project (now known as Lynn Valley Village) and the writing of the Lynn Valley Official Community Plan in 1997.

  2. Instrumental in the renovation of Mollie Nye House and its establishment as a community centre.

  3. A significant contributor to public action resulting in the withdrawal of a plan to have a road go through Lynn Canyon Park.

The main reasons people join the LVCA are:

  1. To get information on what is being planned in Lynn Valley including North Vancouver District Council discussions and initiatives.

  2. To have a chance to express views about Lynn Valley initiatives, and influence decision-making through discussion, debate and feedback to District Council and other bodies.

  1. To be more involved in the community by participating in community activities (LV Days and Town Centre events), to meet people and neighbours, and giving back to the community.
